If you have to download multiple files, such as RAR archives, in the same folder, Firefox will ask you where to save each file. Going through the same menu for every file is a waste of your time, so instead set up Firefox to download RAR files to the same folder every time without asking. Firefox enables you to change download settings using the Options window.
Permit auto-open of ZIP and RAR files In Chrome 73, a regression was introduced that acccidentally blocked users from choosing to auto-open files with .ZIP and .RAR extensions. This CL resolves the problem by explicitly copying the auto_open_hint from the default_file_type to each of the affected file types.
Every time I download a zip or a rar file it asks me what to do with the file and doesn't give me the option to do this automatically next time, like it did way back before I made the mistake of refreshing firefox. It's driving me nuts to have to click save file every time without being given the option to do this automatically next time. It gives me the option to do this automatically next time when I download an mp3 file, but not zip or rar files. Help please.
Hi VitriolVic, the site from which you are downloading the files might not be sending a specific content type but instead a generic \"binary download\" content type. In that case, Firefox normally won't let you permanently associate the generic content type with a particular program. This may be difficult to diagnose from the Open/Save/Cancel dialog, but usually can be confirmed using the Network Monitor section of the developer tools.
Before going there, you may want to try the following: copy an old settings file from your \"pre-Refresh\" profile to your \"post-Refresh\" profile. The file is mimeTypes.rdf, and it stores the preferred download actions you had previously accumulated. I'm not sure how long ago \"way back\" was but if it wasn't that long, this might be a shortcut.
Unfortunately, I no longer have my old profile folder anymore. I threw it out as soon as I finished setting up all my add-ons, thinking I would get the option to \"do this automatically next time\", like I did with Mp3 files. So, I tried to replace the mimeTypes.rdf file from an old time machine back up & it didn't help either. It's strange because it did recognize an RAR file the other day from a site I always download from, but when I refreshed again, now it no longer recognizes it. It's very frustrating for a control freak like me to have to be questioned every time what to do with a file that it used to know exactly what to do with it. I'm not very computer savvy at all, but I did what you have stated from my old back up and it didn't work at all. I was wondering if there's any way to manually add content type to the applications panel list because it's not adding any of these ZIP or RAR files anymore Like I said before, it did add the RAR file to the list upon my first refresh, but when I refreshed it again because it wouldn't add the ZIP files, now it won't add the RAR files either. If I download an older version of Firefox, might it recognize the ZIP and RAR files like it used to I wish I never refreshed it at all at this point because it solved my initial problem but now caused me more problems that affects me on a daily basis and may not be such a huge problem, but it is more of a time consuming inconvenience.
Thanks so much. Your ZIP file gave me the option to do this again automatically next time. Hopefully that will transfer over to any other ZIP files I download in the future. You're the best, thanks again for your time and help. :)
To use GS Auto Clicker, access the click recording menu by selecting the \"Multiple Clicks\" option in the settings. In this window, mark the first option and select the area for the automated clicks. Then press F8 to activate it.
There's a trojan in that file. I downloaded it and went to check the total virus And there are 2 trojans and another file that I can't say the type of but it is a malicious file If you download it, un...
A .zip or .rar file is a file that stores and compresses one or more other files. Recently, I tried downloading albums from my Flickr account, but I often received the same error message when opening the .zip file: Unexpceted end of archive. Very frustrating; the message was still there even after redownloading that zip file.

21. This option gives the recovery files the same size. It's not really recommended to use this option. If people need to repair only 1 block, then they'll have to download a large size recovery file. Not selecting this option creates recovery files with various sizes, so the user can download the exact amount of recovery files they need.
Here we have 7 free tools that can auto extract multiple archive files, even if they are all protected by different passwords. You supply all the required passwords to the program and it will do the rest.1. Unpack Monitor
As the name suggests, Unpack Monitor is a tool that watches specified folders, and auto extracts any archives that appear in them to the chosen location. The program also has some quite advanced features such as uploading unpacked files to FTP, advanced filtering to send different file names to specific locations and launching a separate program after extraction. Unpack Monitor recognizes 7z, Rar, Zip, ISO, Tar and GZip archives and also HJ Split files.
JDownloader only handles Rar files and being a Java built application means memory usage is quite high, well over 100MB while sitting there doing nothing. Also watch for the adware during install, a full offline installer is available in addition to the web installer. There are other similar download tools that can auto extract files once they have downloaded, such as Mipony, Load!, FreeRapid Downloader and ochDownloader.
Files are added by dragging and dropping onto the window and if you want to add in a couple of passwords simply press the Add Password button and type them in. If you have a larger text file list available, press the Import button to add them in, the program is smart enough to check the recently used or manually entered passwords first. The file can be exported if required. A slight drawback is the program only extracts to one destination folder at once although it can auto create directories for larger batches of files. Works on Windows XP and above and requires .NET version 4. 59ce067264
